Luis A. Mateos
Bio. Luis is a robotics engineer at - Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the Senseable City Laboratories & CSAIL - Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, he is developing autonomous robots able to transport persons and goods, monitor the environment and self-assembly. Previouly, he was developing an industrial exoskeleton so called Robomate to assist workers in automobile factories for carrying heavy weights, with the aim of preventing back injuries. In his PhD project DeWaLop, he developed a robotic solution to inspect and repair the 100-years-old water pipes in between Vienna and Bratislava to improve the situation of fresh water leakage. For this achievement he was awarded the 2014 OVE prize by Austrian Government. Luis got his research master degree in computer vision and robotics (ViBot) with full fund by European Union. Prior to that, as an electronic engineer he worked in IBM for the automation system self-checkout.
